Goodbye Melbourne. You were fun.

Well I have had an amazing time in Melbourne. I have two days left here but wanted to update you on what all has happened since my last post. Its 1:20 AM here and I just returned from the Andy Murray vs David Ferrer semi final match and what a match! Andy Murray won a hard fought match and will now face Djokovic in the final. If you keep up with tennis, you will already know that Nadal and Federer were both knocked out of the tournament. I saw Nadal get put out and it was a shame that he was injured and not 100%, otherwise he might have completed the Rafa Slam (winning all four majors in a row). O well, he will have more chances as he is young.

I am getting excited about heading to Brisbane to see what awaits me there and am also excited about meeting friends there. I have made a few temporary friends here in Melbourne but, like I said, temporary. Hello and goodbye type friendships so that's been one hard thing about being Melbourne. In Brisbane I am hoping to find a good community of people and I know I will find that with the help of Rotary and living with some guys my age.

I have not blogged about the flood crisis going on in the Queensland area but it has been really bad and has effected an area the size of Germany and France put together. I will be sure to blog about this very soon. Anyway, I know that my house is dry so that's a very good thing.

Some cool things that have happened since my last post:
1.) I saw a BB King poster walking down the streets of Melbourne.
2.) I met a man from Sydney who had stayed in Oxford, Mississippi for two weeks. It's a small world after all. Right?
3.) I got in a picture with the number one ranked women's tennis player, Caroline Wozniaki.
4.) Celebrated Australian day, which is basically the equivalent to our fourth of July.
5.) I spotted one of the greatest cricket players at the tennis tournament. I had to ask who he was first.
6.) Walking down the streets of Melbourne, I spotted Roger Federer's wife, Mirka, and the two Federer twins. I spoke to Mirka for a moment and said hello to the twins.

Enjoy the pictures:

Good effort Nadal. (FYI-the watch Nadal is wearing is worth $525,000)

Caroline Wozniaki, women's world number one player.

Shane Warne, one of the greatest cricket players to play the game. I didn't know who he was but I was told he is like the Michael Jordan of cricket. Which is a really big sport here.

Felt closer to home seeing this.

Finalists, Andy Murray.

Finalists,  Novak Djokovic.

Happy Australian Day!

City of Melbourne at night.
